Network Engineer
General Position
Exetel Communications (Pvt) Ltd is looking for two Network Engineers to operate and maintain the Australian based network used by Exetel Australia Pty Ltd. The Exetel network covers all Australian sites services over 70,000 customers with external Internet access of more than 2.5Gbps. The network is based on Cisco and Foundry routers and switches.
In this position you will work in Exetel Communications (Pvt) Ltd's offices in Colombo but your work assignments and day to to day supervision and management will be done by the head of Exetel Australia's IT Services manager.
You will work with other talented network engineers in Australia to maintain ad continue to grow the Exetel network.
Academic Requirements
You must have a degree in IT, majoring in programming, from a Sri Lankan University.
Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years in a similar role
- Strong Cisco IOS knowledge
- Linux/Unix skills
- A sound understanding of IP network operation
- Experience with CATOS, Foundry OS or similar
Desirable Skills
A working knowledge of:
- NetSense management tools
- Nagios System Monitoring
- BASH, Perl or other scripting language
Remuneration
Exetel pay very well and your starting remuneration will depend on your level of academic achievement and your demonstrable skills and work experience to date but will not be less than your current remuneration plus 50%.
