MySQL & PHP Programmer
General Position
Exetel Communications (Pvt) Ltd is looking for two database programmers to work the database systems used by Exetel Australia Pty Ltd. These systems are truly leading edge and have been developed over the last 5 years by Exetel's own personnel using MySQL as the base engine.
In this position you will work in Exetel Communications (Pvt) Ltd's offices in Colombo but your work assignments and day to day supervision and management will be done by the head of Exetel Australia's IT Services manager.
You will work with one other programmer based in the Colombo offices and with other talented developers in Australia to continue the development of innovative and world leading automated systems and software.
Academic Requirements
- You must have a degree in IT, majoring in programming, from a Sri Lankan university.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
Previous Experience
- At least three years working in a similar position
Essential Skills
- Strong object oriented PHP experience
- Solid MySQL skills/experience
- A sound understanding of database structure and design
- Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript and website development
- Linux/Unix, Apache, SSL
Desirable Skills
A working knowledge of:
- AJAX
- SOAP
- Perl
- JAVA
Remuneration
Exetel pay very well and your starting remuneration will depend on your level of academic achievement and your demonstrable skills and work experience to date but will not be less than your current remuneration plus 50%.
